Australian PMI®: Manufacturing Slowdown Intensifies
The slowdown in manufacturing activity intensified in June, with the Australian Industry Group - PricewaterhouseCoopers Australian Performance of Manufacturing Index (Australian PMI®) falling by 4.2 points to 47.0 down from 51.2 points in May. The index fell below the key 50.0 level separating expansion from contraction. Production, employment and new orders all fell solidly in June while inventory growth remained firm. Supplier deliveries rose marginally.
