Australian Constructors Association Calls For National Building Legislation To Be Passed By Senate
The recent announcement by the Victorian Government, to abolish the Victorian Building Code has prompted the Australian Constructors Association (ACA) to again call on the Australian Senate to pass the Federal Industrial relations legislation currently before it.

Abolition of Victorian code increases the urgency for the Federal construction IR legislation to be passed
"The abolition by the Victorian Government of the Victorian Construction Code, Implementation Guidelines and regulator is very disappointing as they were playing a vital role in protecting employers and the community from unlawful, unacceptable and unproductive practices on construction sites," Ai Group Chief Executive, Innes Willox, said today.

Australian PCI®: Subdued end to 2014 for construction
The national construction industry contracted at a slightly steeper rate in December, with the Australian Industry Group/Housing Industry Association Australian Performance of Construction Index (Australian PCI®) dropping 1.0 point to 44.4 points (index readings below 50 points indicate a contraction in activity, with the distance from 50 points indicating the strength of the contraction).
