One of the best ways of ensuring compliance with Occupational Health & Safety laws is to ensure your employees are appropriately inducted.

Inappropriately inducted employees affect a person’s safety, health, increases the chance of workplace incidents occurring, and reduces performance and productivity within the workplace.
Learn how to effectively develop and deliver an “OHS Induction” for your workplace to ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety laws.


This Government and Industry funded program is designed to develop and deliver a sound, well structured educational program called ‘Train-the-OHS Inductor’. The project will provide supervisors with the competencies and tools to induct young and new employees addressing OHS and workers compensation.

The aim of the program is to:

  • Provide supervisors with the competencies and tools to induct young and new employees addressing OHS and workers compensation
  • Provide young and new employees with the competencies to participate in the workplace in a safe manner
  • Improve workplace compliance with the relevant legislation, ultimately translating into a reduction in the incidence of occupational illness and injury and the costs of workers compensation claims in NSW

 

The key topics that will be covered include:

  • How to effectively delivery an induction
  • How to overcome barriers to learning
  • Assessment of skills and knowledge
  • The management of young and new employees to include:
    • Risk management
    • Management responsibility
    • Control of OHS issues
    • Training
    • Hazard and incident reporting
    • Consultation and cooperation
    • Management of emergencies
    • Bullying and harassment
  • Induction package orientation and customisation
  • How to customise the generic induction program

 

You will receive:
Participants will receive; course notes, ‘Trainers Pack’ that includes ‘Trainers Delivery Manual’, sample – Generic Induction Manual, sample – PowerPoint presentation, sample – Assessment Quiz and sample – Training Record.


Restrictions Apply
Must be a Member of Australian Industry Group, max of two participants per organisation(*), $200 fee applies for non-completion of the training program and complete post program on-line survey.

(*) Depending on demand this may be reduced to one.
